Is it ever okay to start a fight in mage knight where you know your not going to win. For example: what if you needed to get past some rampaging orcs, but didn't have the right cards to defeat them, but you did have the right cards to block their attack. Could you move to go around them, knowing that you would have to fight them, and then play the block cards during the necessary fight? In this way you may be able to move around the board and get to a more strategic position; the fight would end your turn, but you would also be able to get through it without taking any wounds, leaving the orcs behind still alive.
Is this even possible according to the rules, can you get into a fight, and then realize that there's no way you can win, but you do have the right cards to block. I know that if you did this while attacking a castle you would end up taking a wound card, after the battle while retreating to your original hex on the board. But I think there's other situations where your not sure who the monster is until you flip it over, in these situations would it be good to only play block cards, retreat, and fight another day. Is this even possible?
